MV Froan

(2007 – 2022)

MV Froan

April 2007 Berge Rederi AS bought the vessel Wachau from Oesterreicher Lloyd Ship Management Gmbh and renamed her Froan. The name Froan originated from the archipelago outside of the island Frøya. She was also rebuilt to a self-discharger the same year in Tallinn. The cargo capacity was 3500 t, cargohold was 4650 cbm with 2 moveable bulkheads. Like MV Sletringen, Froan also began her years of service well being a very valuable vessel for the company. Even during the finance crisis in 2008 she continued to serve the company with decent income. The vessel's main cargo were raw materials for the salmon and agriculture industry in Norway. Outbound cargoes were mainly dolomite and split. In September 2022, Froan was sold to a Greek company and renamed Taxiarchis Michail.
