MV Krabbsund

(2019 – 2023 )

In May 2019 Berge Rederi AS bought the vessel Ems from HS Schiffarts GMBH and renamed her to MV Krabbsund (K = 6000 dwt). Krabbsund was also an exact sister vessel of Knarrlagsund and Kya. The name Krabbsund originated from a fjord close to Knarrlagsund. Krabbsund was rebuilt to a self-discharger with excavator same year in Tallinn. The cargo capacity was 5700 t, with 2 cargo holds of a total 7923 cbm consisting of 2 movable bulkheads. The vessel's main cargo were raw materials for the salmon and agriculture industry in Norway. Outbound cargoes were mainly dolomite, crumbles, timber and split. Krabbsund like MV Knarrlagsund, was also equipped and certified for sailing in Arctic waters. (Polar code) Krabbsund was sold 20.
