MV Kya

In June 2018 Berge Rederi AS bought the vessel Altena from Wagenborg and renamed her to MV Kya (K = 6000 dwt). Kya is an exact sister vessel of MV Knarrlagsund. The name Kya originated from an Island in the archipelago outside of Frøya. Kya was rebuilt to a self-discharger with excavator same year in Tallinn. The cargo capacity is 5700 t, with 2 cargo holds of a total 7923 cbm consisting of 2 movable bulkheads. The vessel's main cargo are raw materials for the salmon and agriculture industry in Norway. Outbound cargoes are mainly dolomite, crumbles, timber and split.
