MV Optimar III
(2013 – 2018)

In February 2013 Berge Rederi AS bought Molo Carrier from Molo Shipping AS and renamed her to MV OptiMar. Included in the sale was financing from a local bank at North West part of Norway. OptiMar was rebuilt to a self-discharger with excavator the same year in Tallinn. She also had an extended dry dock stay in Tallinn with several repairs the first 6 months. The cargo capacity was 2700 t, with a 3800 cbm cargohold consisting of 2 movable bulkheads. The vessel's main cargo were raw materials for the salmon and agriculture industry in Norway. Outbound cargoes were mainly dolomite and split. An unfortunate accident happened 23 December 2017 when OptiMar grounded on Braken, North West coast of Norway. The crew was evacuated by helicopter while the vessel was later on saved by the rescue boat Eirk Bye and brought to Kristiansund. After a couple of months she was declared a total loss and towed to Stokksund for scrapping. Excavator and usefull parts were transferred to the future vessel MV Kya.
