MV Selvaagsund

(1948 – 1976)

MV Selvaagsund was a cargo vessel owned by Magne’s and Øivind’s grandfather. She was bought in 1948 and sold in 1976. The transported cargo was timber to the northern areas of Norway and fish southbound. The last years of MV Selvaagsund's service was around Hitra and Frøya. The name Selvaagsund originated from two places Øivind Berge lived, first in Selvaagen then in Knarrlagsund. Both locations are on the island Ulvøya and are about 1 km between each other in distance.
