Kvitsand
In May 2021 Berge Rederi AS bought the vessel Belterwiede from Capt Wilhelm H Van Vee and renamed her to MV Kvitsand (6000 dwt). The name Kvitsand refers to one of the main cargoes, Dolomite (White sand). Kvitsand was rebuilt to a self-discharger with excavator next year in Tallinn, due to the Covid pandemic.
The vessel's main cargo are raw materials for the salmon and agriculture industry in Norway. Outbound cargoes are mainly dolomite, crumbles, timber and split.
Kvitsand is equipped and certified for sailing in Arctic waters. (Polar code)
