MV KYA
In June 2018 Berge Rederi AS bought the vessel Altena from Wagenborg and renamed her to MV Kya (6000 dwt). Kya is an exact sister vessel of MV Knarrlagsund. The name Kya originated from an Island in the archipelago outside of Frøya.
Kya was rebuilt to a self-discharger with excavator same year in Tallinn.
The vessel's main cargo are raw materials for the salmon and agriculture industry in Norway. Outbound cargoes are mainly dolomite, crumbles, timber and split.
Kya is equipped and certified for sailing in Arctic waters. (Polar code)
